Seattle, WA ...The award winning Highway 99 Blues Club is hittin' the heat of summer 2008 with all the grills fired up and lots of thick smoke in the air.Some new changes you should be reminded of again and lots and lots of great music to swing your summer right. Our Blue Monday Jam has moved to Sunday.That's right. Music starts at 3pm with double the fun as both Scotty Harris and Justin Kausal-Hayes share the hosting duties.Special guests and your chance to jam with the band. Plus every Sunday we will be doing special BBQ - Highway 99 style! - We are smoking, pulling and slow cooking some great food.

The month gets stirring right away with July 4th's show with MORELAND AND ARBUCKLE http://www.kingsnakesblues.com/home.html . Hailing from Kansas, this band's sound combines the primal blues of Mississippi Hill country and adds the Delta and other rural blues influences. July 5th finds a wild night...Rockabilly, Roots and Burlesque Blow-out and Car show.Really; all in one night...8 bands includingthe Souvenirs, Johnny Mercury, Dragstrip Riot and more along with the Glitzkrieg Girls. Plus a ton o' muscle cars out front.

From Australia, multi-award winning artist FIONA BOYES http://yellowdogrecords.com/fiona/and her band the Fortune Tellers make their club debut.Boyes has been knocking them dead down-under and in the states to.Influenced by the early style of barrelhouse blues, her guitar and singing skills are a great match for her Delta and country blues leanings. One night July 12.

TERRY EVANS http://www.terryevansmusic.com/ returns on July 19.A club favorite these past four years, Terry is a Mississippi born singer with deep roots in gospel and soul.He has won a gold record and sung with the likes of Ry Cooder, Boz Scaggs and more.A classic showman. July 20 promises to be one of the most memorable nights at Highway 99...

MR. BOBBY RUSH http://www.bobbyrush.net/deeprush/and his full revue will be doing two big shows.Arguably one of the top blues acts today, Bobby just won 3 BMA awards; Best Soul Blues Male Artist, Best Acoustic Artist and Best Acoustic Album.This show brings the best of Bobby Rush and the dancers too..!!

Closing out the month will be LEE OSKAR http://www.leeoskar.com/ and FRIENDS monthly showcase on July 25.The legendary harp player who created the Latin/soul sound of the band WAR and the Low Rider band, these shows are becoming a don't miss event.

The following night, 18 time Muddy award winner from Portland, ROBBIE LAWS and HIS BIGGER BLUES BAND http://www.visionmusic.com/robbielaws.html will shake the joint all night.Smokin' blues and vintage R & B from this 7 piece horn driven band which has been featured at Bumbershoot, Waterfront, Sunbanksand other festivals.One night on July 26.

One of the hottest local honky tonk bands in Seattle, RUBY DEE & THE SNAKEHANDLERS http://www.rubydeemusic.com/ will be celebrating the release of their new CD on JULY 11.

Sunday JULY 27 will find another in a line of Special Sunday Zydeco shows with the fabulous ZYDECO FLAMES http://www.zydecoflames.com/ from San Francisco turning the club into a dance hall.

And finally, what a way to close out July; visiting for the first time from San Diego are the amazing duo of NATHAN JAMES & BEN HERNANDEZ http://www.nathandjames.com/index.cfm .This duo pays homage to the knock-down, jug-smashin' , suitcase stompin' brand of Americana music with its roots in the blues.They were IBC winners in '07, veterans of international tours, the legendary R & B cruises and much more.One night only on July 31.
