Seattle, WA - For the 4th time in four years, HIGHWAY 99 BLUES CLUB was voted as the BEST BLUES CLUB IN WASHINGTON STATE by the members of the Washington Blues Society.We are thrilled to have won this award again, and wanted to express our gratitude for all the support of both the Blues Society and all of the patrons that "hit the Highway" on a regular basis.

As summer begins, the music warms up with lots of acts to choose from and some new bands that will be visiting for the very first time.You'll find a
new menu, some new hours and even a new day to hear music and hang out at Highway 99 Blues Club. The biggest change is with our NEW SUMMER HOURS.Based on 4 years of watching the ships roll in...we will be CLOSED ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS - instead we will now be OPEN ON SUNDAYS as of JUNE 1.Our award winning Blue Monday Jam will relocate for the summer to Sunday's starting at 3pm.Come
and jam with the band.We will feature the same rockin' house band along with hosts Justin Kausal-Hayes and Scotty Harris, guest artists and more.

As always, a chance for everyone to come down and jam with the band.We will also be throwin' down some great BBQ every Sunday, keep the jam going and offer some special Sunday shows as they come through town.

June gets fired up right away with BECKI SUE AND HER BIG ROCKIN' DADDIES http://www.bigrockindaddies.com/on June 6.Repeat winners for Best Blues Band, this band shakes the joint with hi-energy blues.

The next night finds one of our favorites and one of Portland's all time greats; LLOYD JONES http://www.lloydjonesmusic.com/and his band THE STRUGGLE, June 7. A veteran of the legendary blues cruises, Jones is known for his deep pocket Memphis flavored R&B.

Marking his return to Seattle and his "other" side, internationally known jazz guitarist, singer and band leader BRIAN NOVA and his FELONIUS FUNK ORCHESTRA http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=114785413take up a twice a month residency on every other Thursday night. Featuring vocalist STEPHANIE PORTER, hot horns and tight funky rhythm section, Nova's shows are hi-energy and full of surprises. Catch them on June 12.

TIM CASEY AND THE BLUESCATS http://www.timcaseybluescats.com/, one of the area's only true blues swing bands, hits the highway on June 13 for a CD release party and a show featuring the EASTSIDE SWINGCATS DANCERS.First 99 people will get a free copy of their new CD.

June 14 finds the hottest funk and soul band in the Northwest, DOCTORFUNK http://www.doctorfunk.com/ back in the house.10 members strong with 5 horns up front, the band plays classic soul music as well as originals.

June 21 will see the return of ALICE STUART AND THE FORMERLY'S http://www.alicestuart.com/.Alice has been the recipient of numerous
awards recently for her work in the blues.She recently performed in Memphis as a part of the IBC blues contest.A skilled guitarist, singer and
songwriter, Alice always puts on a great show.

On Sunday June 22, there will be another of our special Sunday Zydeco shows - this time featuring CURLY TAYLOR AND ZYDECO TROUBLE
http://www.curleytaylor.com/.All the way from Louisiana, Taylor and his band bring their brand of hot zydeco dance tunes mixed with R & B grooves. His last visit was a blast and the dancers were left gasping for air!

We are especially excited for the show on June 26 - the Grammy nominated PINE LEAF BOYS http://www.pineleafboys.com/will be making their first visit to Highway 99 for a special Thursday night show.These youngsters specialize in playing Cajun and Creole dance hall music.They are known for their raucous shows, their multi-instrumentation and full throttle approach
to playing their music.
