Coming together for the first time collectively, this latest version of the HIGHWAY 99 ALL-STARS is sure to be a crowd pleaser.  The lineup for the show includes:

ROBBIE LAWS – from Portland, 21 time Cascade Blues Association Muddy Award Winner – 9 of those for Best guitarist.  Robbie was also involved in the Robbie Laws Bigger Blues Band which won a Washington Blues Society award for Best Blues Act.  He also has won Outstanding Achievement award from the Portland Music Association.  Robbie is a highly respected guitarist and vocalist in the Albert Collins and Bobby Blue Bland styles.

MARK DUFRESNE - Seattle’s own. Multiple award winning vocalist, songwriter and harmonica player more than anyone else from the Washington Blues Society.  Former lead singer for ROOMFUL OF BLUES, nominated for a Grammy during his time with the band as well as winning a WC Handy award.  Numerous European tours and has led his own band for many years.

RANDY OXFORD aka “THE BONE MAN” – band leader, multiple WBS award winner, jam host for many years on the Legendary R & B cruise, part of the Big Blues Bender, has taken his bands to Memphis to compete in the IBC numerous times and an original member of the first version of the HIGHWAY 99 ALL STARS.  The one man horn section.

JOHN KESSLER -  a pro bass player for over 20 years, best known as the host of KPLU (now KNKX) ALL BLUES radio show.  He has played with and produced numerous bands and recordings.  Played and recorded with the Dudley Taft Band.

FRANK “HOT ROD” HOLMAN” – longtime fixture on the blues scene – his B-3 work is well known throughout the area.  Also a skilled piano player.  Frank has won numerous awards from the WBS for best new act, best blues act and best keys.  An original member of the HIGHWAY 99 ALL STARS, a founding member of both the ROBBIE LAWS BIGGER BLUES BAND AND THE HOT WIRED RHYTHM BAND in addition to having led his own band.

STEVE SARKOWSKY – founder of the HIGHWAY 99 BLUES CLUB.  Longtime drummer with multiple nominations for best blues drummer from WBS.  Has co-founded numerous bands including THE HIGHWAY 99 ALL-STARS, THE ROBBIE LAWS BIGGER BLUES BAND and THE HOT WIRED RHYTHM BAND.  He has been the primary booking person for highway 99 since it opened over 12 years ago.

This show is a great chance to see and hear some great players who typically don’t all get to play with each other.  The evening will also feature an acoustic opening set with Mark Dufresne and Robbie Laws.  Fans can expect songs from BB King, T-Bone Walker, Little Milton,  Magic Sam and many more.  This promises to be a swingin’ night of the blues.
